Sanskriti – the initiative to test the creative mettle of the school students of West Bengal and harboring a competitive ecosystem for the wholistic creative growth of the community from young age.
Background & Core Philosophy for Sanskriti Competition:
While the whole world is busy focusing on left-brain knowledge in schools and universities to earn a living, it is the right-brain creative skills that give meaning to life. Not only are they a source of creative existence, but these skills also make a human come to balance with nature and help them fight stress, anxiety, depression of life. To test the creative readiness of the young Indians on whose shoulder will come the responsibility of India in the coming decades, Anthelion School of Art from Kolkata is bringing the first of its kind – All Bengal Inter-School Competition of Art, Literature & Culture, and we have named it “Sanskriti”.
The first ‘Sanskriti’ is being organized this year (2023-24) and shall be a systematic stage-wise program in the field of Fine Arts (Painting) for this year while the other categories (shared in subsequent slides) shall be included in subsequent years. “Sanskriti” shall be an annual inter-school creative festival to identify, recognize and support Young Creative talents through awards, mentoring and opportunities. The process starts with registration, the first round will be Online and Final Round shall be in Kolkata in the month of April 2024.
Who Are We: ANTHELION SCHOOL OF ART
Anthelion School of Art is an ISO 9001:2015 certified School of Fine Arts from Kolkata registered to MSME and operational since May 2017. We have We have students from more than 20 states of India and 8 other countries from the age of 8 to 80 years.
We Teach Painting to all ages (8-80) in Classroom & Online Mode. We organize Art Events. We Monetize Art. We are teaching an Undergraduate (Diploma in Fine Arts) program in Painting for people of all ages (8-80 years).

- 8-12 – Foundation courses / Junior Diploma Program.
- 13-21 – Diploma in Fine Arts / Art College entrance preparation/Crash Courses.
- 22 and above – Diploma in Fine Arts / Crash Courses.
We have organized 26 Events so far – Exhibitions, Workshops, Art Camps & Fairs etc. – to connect and place our students in the Art World. We provide regular Internships and Live Projects in Fine Arts from Print World, Film Industry & Production Houses, Durga Puja Design & Installation projects etc. We have students from almost every part of West Bengal, every state in India and 10 other countries.

Among these 4 Segments and 17 creative categories of competitions, the first edition of this year (Sanskrit 1.0) shall be holding only the (Fine Arts) Painting Competition. Next year we shall include a few more categories and in 3 years, the whole gamut of 4 segments and 17 categories shall be implemented.
Sanskriti 1.0: This Year’s Program
- Being the first year – the competition shall be conducted only for Painting (Fine Arts).
- It shall be All Bengal Inter-School Fine Arts (Painting) Competition involving 100+ schools, 2000+ students.
- Two Categories – Std 6 to 8 (Junior) and Std 9 to 12 (Senior).
- Theme and Size will be given by us (refer slide no. 7).
- Event shall be organized in 4 steps –
- Step 1: Registration with payment and filling the form, receiving the confirmation.
- Step 2: Making the artwork, taking a photo and online submission.
- Step 3: Evaluation and shortlist of the best 100 artworks in each Junior & Senior category.
- Step 4: Two-day Exhibition at ICCR (April 2024) as final round with prize & certificate distribution.
- The details of each step are described as follows.
Step 1: Registration Process
- The school authorities are requested to kindly forward the email, poster, webpage link and this presentation to students / parents of the 6th to 12th standard in your school.
- Once the students / parents / guardians go through the details, if there is any confusion / query, please feel free to call us at +91 97335 04525 (Dipayan Banerjee).
- Once the candidate is ready to register, just visit the following webpage, go through the details one last time, make the payment of Non-Refundable Registration Fees, note the transaction number, fill the form – Your registration is complete.
- Registration Fees (Non-refundable) – ₹ 500 + GST = ₹ 590/-. [Note: Those who will be shortlisted for Round 2 for exhibition will have to pay an additional ₹ 590/- as exhibition fees.]
- Once registration is complete, you shall receive a confirmation email within 3 working days with the Registration Number. Please keep the Transaction ID (Screenshot) till you receive the confirmation email.
- Last date of Registration – December 31, 2023.
Step 2: Artwork Submission
- Once the registration is complete, your focus should be to develop the artwork. Artwork once completed, take a High-resolution Picture and without any filter or editing mail it to anthelionartschool@gmail.com by 15th January 2024, mentioning “Sanskriti Submission: Your Name – Registration Number” in the Subject of the email.
- Theme for Artwork – TO BE PROVIDED UPON REGISTRATION (Same for both senior & junior category).

- (if you use) Paper: A3
- (if you use) Canvas: 12 inches x 16 inches / 16 inches x 16 inches.
- Senior Category:
- (if you use) Paper: A3
- (if you use) Canvas: 20 inches x 24 inches / 24 inches x 24 inches.
- As a participant, based on your category, you have to follow the above sizes depending on whether you choose to use Paper or Canvas (Both Canvas Board / Box Canvas are allowed).
- Medium and Composition based on the theme is absolutely Candidate’s creative freedom.

Step 3: Evaluation & Shortlisting
- All the submissions shall be evaluated by Professional Artist empaneled with Anthelion School of Art and a shortlist of top 100 candidates in each category shall be declared as the result of First Round on 31st January 2024.
- Evaluation shall be done under the following 5 parameters – Quality of Composition, Space Division, Drawing skills, Application skill of Colors / Shades and Overall Finish.
- The list shall be declared in our Website, in the same Webpage where Registration is done. A separate group email shall also be sent to all participants once the result is declared to inform them about the “Declaration of Result”.
- The decision of the Judges / Evaluation committee shall be final and abiding.
- All schools will also get a mark (Total sum of the marks of all participating students / total no. of participating students) to be used for school award.
Step 4: Final Round – Exhibition
- A final round of Grand Art Exhibition for Two Days (Preferably Saturday & Sunday in April 2024 – dates to be decided by 15th December 2023), shall be organized where the shortlisted candidates of first round shall display their artworks at the Jamini Roy & Nandalal Bose Galleries at Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), 9A, Ho Chi Minh Sarani, Kolkata 71.
- All shortlisted candidates will have to pay the non-refundable “Exhibition Fees” of ₹ 590/- between 1st to 10th February 2024. Payment link / QR code / Bank details shall be mailed to the selected candidates.
- The final evaluation shall be done by a panel of 3 to 4 senior-most artists of Kolkata and the winners shall be declared on the opening day and presented with all awards and certificates.
- A professional process will be communicated to all shortlisted candidates regarding how the final artworks are to be delivered to the gallery before the exhibition.
- All participants to collect their artworks from the gallery on the last day of the exhibition.
Awards & Recognitions for Sanskriti 1.0:
- The first, second and third in each category (both Junior & Senior) of All Bengal Inter-School Fine Arts Competition will get the following cash awards, mementos, and Rank Certificates:
- First Prize – ₹10,000/-
- Second Prize – ₹5,000/-
- Third Prize – ₹2,500/-
- There are two awards for the schools as well –
- The Best Creative School of Bengal – for highest marks
- The Highest Spirited School of Bengal – for largest participation.
- All participants will receive Digital Print-ready “Participation Certificates”, all shortlisted candidates will receive hard-copy “Participation-cum-Exhibition Certificates & Mementos”, all winners will receive “Rank Certificates, Mementos & Award Cheques”. Winning Schools will receive “Shields & Certificates”.
- The art teachers of the two winning schools shall get special recognition with a memento, certificate and cash prize (for the art teacher) as a mark of respect to the vibrant performance of their school due to their efforts.
- Besides these primary awards, the winners of the two categories shall get special mentions in an article in the Online Magazine – The Creative Post. The winning schools will get a special article each in the magazine, for themselves covering their creative endeavors and interviews of senior management, art teachers and few students.
- The most valuable award for the shortlisted students who will participate in the exhibition is the opportunity to meet senior-most Artists of Bengal with an opportunity to network, connect and interact with them. Your good work may also catch the attention of many Exhibition Organizers, getting you further opportunities to participate in their future events.
- There shall be gift vouchers and opportunities from our partner organizations and sponsors (to be declared in due course of time) for the winners.
- Three Months of Crash Course in Fine Arts shall be free for the 6 winners of the two categories, and other shortlisted students will get special vouchers from Anthelion School of Art.

- Step 1 – Make Payment of Non-refundable Registration Fees of ₹590/- using any one of the three modes – QR Code, UPI, Bank Transfer (NEFT / IMPS). But whichever process you do, please note the Transaction Number, Transaction Date and Transaction Time.
- Step 2 – Come back to this same Webpage and Fill up the form given Below.
