<p>The first of its kind Mirror Engraving Workshop, to be conducted by <a href="https://www.facebook.com/elenagrace.broise">Ms Elena Morizio</a> from Rome, Italy and organized by <a href="https://anthelionartschool.com/about-us/">Anthelion School of Art</a>, Kolkata during August 19 &#8211; 23 (1st batch) and August 26 &#8211; 30 (2nd Batch).</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class=" wp-image-3887 aligncenter" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2.jpg" alt="" width="1017" height="574" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2.jpg 1465w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2-1024x578.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/2-768x434.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1017px) 100vw, 1017px" /></p>
<p>This unique art form allows the artist to face his or her own reflection during the entire time of creation &#8211; which invariably creates a unique psychological impact on the artist &#8211; creating a sudden self-awareness, opening one&#8217;s eyes to how the reality within and around one really works.</p>
<p><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-3888" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/3.jpg" alt="Mirror Art Workshop from Anthelion School of Art" width="1066" height="596" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/3.jpg 1467w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/3-300x168.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/3-1024x573.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/3-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1066px) 100vw, 1066px" /></p>
<p>This basic <strong>mirror engraving workshop</strong> not only introduces you to a new &#8220;avant-garde&#8221; artistic form, (yet undiscovered, unrevealed in the world) but also gives you an opportunity to take a journey within yourself.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-3889" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/4.jpg" alt="Mirror Art Workshop from Anthelion School of Art" width="1035" height="580" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/4.jpg 1459w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/4-300x168.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/4-1024x573.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/4-768x430.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1035px) 100vw, 1035px" /></p>
<p>Its pioneer, the Italian philosopher, art director, internationally renowned symbologist and artist Loranzo Ostuni called it the art of the future: the engraving on mirror will spread exponentially around the globe in the coming decades and you will be one of the first students to know its secrets.</p>

<h2>Background &amp; Introduction: Indian Art Conclave</h2>
<p>Before we get into <strong>India Art Conclave</strong>, we need to understand that India has more than 5 millennia of Artistic Heritage to offer to the world. While the world was perfecting their skills in the last 600 years in Europe, India has created wonders between 500 BCE and 1200 AD at the various temples, shrines like the Ajanta, Ellora, Khajuraho, Konark, Belur etc. The best part is, even after thousands of years, they are standing tall and strong.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignleft wp-image-3020" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Ellora2.jpg" alt="Indian Art Heritage - Kailasha Temple" width="387" height="291" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Ellora2.jpg 600w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Ellora2-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 387px) 100vw, 387px" /></p>
<p>The artistic and cultural health of a nation is directly related to its political health and that is probably the reason that the last 1000 years of foreign rule of Indian Mainland has severely limited the global outreach &amp; impact of Indian Art. Post-independence, the stable political scenario has re-ignited the Artistic spirit of the nation and today Indian Art cannot be ignored in any global platform.</p>
<p>Besides Sculptures and Architecture, which are by far the greatest contribution from Indian Art, the world of painting also has some of the best gifts to world art and culture – covering <strong><em>Tribal art, Folk art, Classical art, Temple art </em></strong>and<strong><em> Modern art</em></strong>.</p>
<figure id="attachment_3577" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-3577" style="width: 363px" class="wp-caption alignright"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-3577" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Indian-Art-Forms_Artifice.jpg" alt="Indian Art Forms Collage" width="363" height="276" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Indian-Art-Forms_Artifice.jpg 602w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Indian-Art-Forms_Artifice-300x228.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 363px) 100vw, 363px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-3577" class="wp-caption-text">Image Courtesy: The Artifice</figcaption></figure>
<p>Some of the best Indian art forms are as old as 2500 – 3000 years – like Warli, Gond, Bhil, Pithora, Patua (Scrolls), Kalamkari, Thanjavur or Tanjore, Cheriyal Scrolls, Miniature – Mughal &amp; Rajasthani, Pahari Miniature: Kangra, Guler, Basohli, Chamba, Mandi, Arki style, Bengal – Patachitra, Kalighat, Rajasthani – Phad, Maru-Gurjar, Bundi, Kishangargh, Roghan, Bihar – Mithila, Madhubani, Majusha, Mughal Portrait &#8211; reign of Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan.</p>
<p>Celebrating these Indian Art Forms globally is a responsibility that we all must collectively undertake to promote Indian Art nationally and in the global markets. In this regard Anthelion School of Art from Kolkata is presenting <strong>Anthelion India Art Conclave</strong> – to celebrate <strong><em>Indian Art globally</em></strong> and <strong>Global Art</strong> in India.</p>
<h2>Anthelion School of Art – An Introduction</h2>
<p><a href="https://anthelionartschool.com/"><strong>Anthelion School of Art</strong></a> was formed on 18th May 2017 in Kolkata, India to provide a professional, holistic and authentic (college equivalent) art education to people of all ages (8-80 years).</p>

<p>Since inception it has enrolled 600+ students from almost every state of India and 8 other countries. The students have got the privilege of being taught by some of the best artists as well as teachers of Bengal. Not only it teaches fine arts (Painting) professionally, but it also provides a platform to its students to enter the professional world of Fine Arts by organizing Workshops, Exhibitions, Art Camps &amp; Fairs etc.</p>
<p>Our students get a constant exposure to professional art world, and we push them for the standards that are expected of artists coming out of the best art colleges in the world and that is why in a short span of 5 years, Anthelion School of Art is respected as one of the most prominent Institution of Fine Arts in India.</p>
<h2>Dolna The Movement</h2>
<p><a href="http://www.dolna.in/">Dolna, The Movement</a> is a unique initiative by an artist for artists. The focus is to create innovative platforms, widen audiences, expand applications of art and design relevant events and programs for corporates to integrate with art for mutual benefit. <p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-3607 alignleft" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-scaled.jpg" alt="Mithu Basu_Dolna The Movement" width="256" height="171" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-scaled.jpg 2560w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-300x201.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-1024x685.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-768x514.jpg 768w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-1536x1028.jpg 1536w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Mithu-Profile-Pic-2048x1371.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 256px) 100vw, 256px" /></p>
<p><a href="http://www.dolna.in/dolna_aboutus.asp">Mithu Basu</a> (Artist, Curator &amp; Founder Dolna): Prior to her current foray as Artrepreneur she headed Corporate Communications for close to a decade for The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts.  An art lover and a strong advocate for arts, it was a destined residential stint at Santiniketan (Tagore&#8217;s venerated art institution) that drew her attention to the alarming wealth of unsung talent.</p>
<p>The lack of travel and exposure opportunities, the potential of untapped audiences and what disturbed most was that qualified artists were leaving the creative arena for stable jobs. Art had to be made viable as a career. Convinced to be the change she wanted to see, Mithu founded her innovative art enterprise Dolna. Incidentally it is also her mother’s name.</p>
<p>Co curating <strong>India Art Conclave 2023</strong> marks the beginning of Dolna’s collaboration with Anthelion School of Art.  The shared vision will add muscle to the partnership to benefit Indian art, artists and audiences.</p>
<h2>India Art Conclave – A Proposition</h2>
<p>From Altamira (Spain) to Bhimbhetka (Bhopal, India), Art has connected Humanity in a single unified chord since prehistoric days. <p>Our first ever Live model study workshop, hosted on 6th May 2018, at our own institution Anthelion School of Art, turned out to be a unique and successful endeavor to give our students different experience than their everyday experience of classes here.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-3430 alignleft" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_20180506_114154268-1.jpg" alt="Live Model Study Workshop at Anthelion" width="193" height="257" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_20180506_114154268-1.jpg 1037w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_20180506_114154268-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/IMG_20180506_114154268-1-768x1024.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 193px) 100vw, 193px" /></p>
<p>Guided by one of our senior artist and mentor Mr. Anjan Bhattacharya, the participants explored their artistic talents on canvas and papers. Our model, Miss Amita Ghosh, sat for about 5 hours, in slots of 25 minutes each, while the participants painted her using mediums such as pencil, charcoal, watercolour and acrylic paint.<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-2859 alignright" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180506_130116537.jpg" alt="" width="210" height="280" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180506_130116537.jpg 3456w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180506_130116537-225x300.jpg 225w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180506_130116537-768x1024.jpg 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px" /></p>
<p>The experience was one of a kind and new to many of the participants, who loved this opportunity. It left them wanting more, many requesting such events to be organized regularly.</p>
<p>As a testament of their true talents, the participants created beautiful pieces of art, each unique and extraordinary on its own. The success of this workshop was proof of what can be achieved if the students are given enough freedom to practice their own imagination while training for such a delicate subject like fine arts. The Anthelion school of art has been working towards creating such an environment, where students, whether aged eight or eighty, can practice their passion of fine arts and painting in a liberal atmosphere. Along with that, our institution tries to give them experiences such as this workshop, which helps them to enhance their talents.</p>

<p>Creativity achieves a new height at out 2nd outdoor art camp event on 18 March 2018 at Rabindra sarobar, opposite Menoka cinema hall. It was an entire day of fun filled art as the participants got to draw and paint to their hearts content in a completely natural setting.</p>
<figure id="attachment_2844" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-2844" style="width: 339px" class="wp-caption alignleft"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-2844" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478.jpg" alt="Outdoor Art Camp at Anthelion School of Art" width="339" height="339" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478.jpg 1080w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-150x150.jpg 150w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-300x300.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-768x768.jpg 768w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-400x400.jpg 400w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20180319_140606_478-512x512.jpg 512w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-2844" class="wp-caption-text">Painting outside is a different ball-game altogether.</figcaption></figure>
<p>22 participants, 18 in house students and 4 outsiders, joined this amazing outdoor camp, hosted by our institution, Anthelion School of Art, to practice their skills in open nature. The natural and beautiful setting of Rabindra sarobar inspired our participants to create some mesmerizing works of art, that only serve as a proof of the success of this event.</p>
<p>The participants, both in house students and outsiders were provided with ample amount of supplies- sheets and canvas/canvas boards. The preferred materials for this event was- pencil, charcoal, dry pastel, watercolour or acrylic colours.</p>
<p>This event was one of the many that Anthelion School of Art has organized, and will continue to do so. As our institute is trying and succeeding in creating a safe space for any and every one to practice and nurture their artistic skills, the events such as this outdoor camp, is only another addition towards our attempt to bring fine arts into the grasp of everyday common man.</p>
<p>The event made for a wonderful experience for our participants. This was a fun exercise, giving them a chance to take a breather from their routine life and classroom atmosphere, and return to the nature, to observe and practice the natural setting. This was a unique experience, and we will keep organizing such events to give our students such experiences.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: right;">&#8211; 14th January 2018</h3>
<p>The students of Anthelion School of Art got a unique treat as the school held its very first Outdoor Art Camp session. The participants had the chance to draw and paint in lap of the nature, right in front of Ravindra Sarovar Lake. Under the guidance of two mentors, they explored the nature and expressed their feelings on canvas and paper. Events such as this are imperative for the growth and nurture of the artistic persona of the students and that is what our institute has set out to do. By organizing such events we are trying and succeeding to educate and nurture the artist in our students, regardless of age.</p>

<p>A good educational institution gives its students the chances of life time to enhance their talents. Keeping up with this, Anthelion school of art organized Art workshop on 3rd September 2017, conducted by Mr. Wasim Kapoor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-2834 alignright" src="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012.jpg" alt="" width="408" height="230" srcset="https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012.jpg 4608w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012-300x169.jpg 300w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012-768x432.jpg 768w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://anthelionartschool.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/IMG_20170903_165428012-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 408px) 100vw, 408px" /></p>
<p>This exquisite chance was for 6 in house students and six outsiders. Based on the theme “express the freedom of limitless mind”, the maestro himself demonstrated the art of expressing one’s own emotions and thoughts with acrylic on canvas. The event was an incredible success, the participants learning the ropes from the great artist himself.</p>
<p>Anthelion school of art has been conducting their own mission to provide a safe space for everyone to come and practice their passion for art. At the heart of the city, this is an institution that is helping many explore their artistic talents even in the middle of their busy life style. This event was just another successful attempt to full fill their mission of bringing art into the everyday normal life of ordinary people.</p>

<p>The participants underwent eight classes, completing art works using pencil sketch, pastel and watercolors. It was an amazing experience for the kids, learning to play and work with colors and express themselves on paper under the careful guidance of our mentors.</p>
<p>The doors of our institution are open to people from ages eight to eighty, to nurture their artistic soul and providing art therapy. This event was for the little ones out there, who need better understanding of their thoughts and wishes, and what better way to understand it than through art; with that in mind we will continue organizing such events that not only help people in flourishing their artistic persona but also takes care of their mind and thoughts.</p>
